Sunday Sermon Recap (10/29/25): New Sermon Series, Babylon: "In It, Not of It"

This Sunday, Pastor Bryan shared the premier message of our new sermon series in the Book of Daniel titled, "What Is Babylon?" The message provided important context, setting the historical background of Daniel. It also spoke to the significance of followers of Christ who choose to deeply study God's Word (to his pleasure!), specifically studying prophecy, for it gives us the perspective we need to live faithfully and powerfully for God, in the world - not of it, but as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven.

As we seek first His Kingdom through digging deeply into this series, may we understand our life and our times and gain the heavenly wisdom available to us to navigate our way and be found faithful before God. You and I are sons and daughters of God, washed in the blood of Christ, and filled with His Spirit: We have assurance of great hope and a future as we live in the midst of 'Babylon.'

Here are a few questions from the message to reflect on this week:

1) What is the "Babylon" Americans exist in today?
2) How can we learn from Daniel how to live in the midst 'Babylon,' while remaining faithful to God, standing firm in the truth of God's Word, with love (humility) and power?
3) What do we gain through studying prophecy? And what might we lose if we don't?
4) What do you desire to learn during this study of Daniel? How do you hope to grow and mature, spiritually?
