YoungLife - Hungary | June 22 - July 1
Our youth students and leaders recently returned from Budapest, Hungary where we partnered with YoungLife and spent a week facilitating a summer city camp for youth (ages 11-14) at a school in Budapest, alongside Hungarian young adults and Scott Quigley. ( Scott is the YoungLife representative in Budapest and is supported by Monterey Church.) The amazing team spent 12-14 hour days working alongside Hungarian students and leaders to lead fun activities and games for the city camp, while sharing the love of Jesus to the community! MISSION TRIPS
A look back at Monterey Church mission trips.
In partnership with Compassion International, Monterey Church members have sponsored more than 500 children in Bolivia, Burkina Faso, and the Philippines. Throughout the years, we've had many wonderful opportunities to "go" on Compassion Sponsor trips. We were able to visit the homes of children and families whose lives have been transformed through sponsorship, and were immersed in the lives of children — playing games, sharing meals, giving real-life hugs! We met the Compassion staff and members and the local pastors that care for these communities. Child sponsorship through Compassion International is a mission we wholeheartedly support. (Note: We continue monitor future sponsor trip opportunities with Compassion International. All Compassion visits and trips are currently paused due to COVID-19.)
RDSN (Rancho de sus Ninos) also known as 'The Mission' is an orphanage outside of Tijuana, Mexico. Since 1987, over 5,000 children have been rescued, loved and restored through the mission of RDSN. Our youth and families have been on mission to Tijuana three times. We helped to construct dorms for the kids to live in, served by doing door-to-door trash pick-up and prayer ministry in a local village, and hosted a party for the village at the end of the week. We fully support RDSN and the call to the Church to rise up and take care of the orphaned, abandoned and forgotten ones.
