BRYAN JAMES

Senior Pastor

Founding Pastor and Georgia native, Bryan James, is a graduate of Pentecostal Theological Seminary where he earned a Master’s Degree in Church Leadership with an emphasis on Missions. He and his wife Elaine moved to California in 2005 to launch Monterey Church. In 2012, Pastor Bryan led Monterey Church through a season of reformation into a more missional model, which included overseeing a new church plant in Northern Virginia (where he currently resides) and establishing a robust partnership with Compassion International to release children from poverty in the name of Jesus. Pastor Bryan and Elaine have four children: Rachel, Sarah, Julia and Samuel. Bryan enjoys running, books, and anything and everything related to FSU football.

LINDSAY MCGINNESS

GoKids Director

Lindsay grew up in Northern Virginia, as a child, youth, and adult she served in children’s ministry. She has her associates degree in Business Administration from Northern Virginia Community College. Lindsay came to Monterey Church in 2019 seeking a new church home and found a loving church family, great friends, a husband, and a job all within her first eighteen months here! Lindsay works full time in real estate in addition to being our GoKids Director. When she’s not working she can be found gardening at her home, volunteering with our youth, hiking with her husband, or watching anything Joanna Gaines related!

THANH BUSWELL

Women's Ministry Director

Thanh has called Northern Virginia home since age four, when she arrived in the U.S. with her family as a refugees of the Vietnam War.  She graduated from George Mason University with a BS in Business Marketing and Graduate Certificate in Biblical Studies from Liberty University.  She joined Monterey Church in 2015 and has served as a worship leader and women’s discipleship group leader, prior to her role as Women’s Ministry Director. She is passionate about discipleship and seeing women cultivate a deeper relationship with the Lord. Her heart is to see others walk in freedom, fully receiving their new identity in Christ and experiencing the abundant life Jesus came to give! She resides in Warrenton with her husband Randy and their two sons.
